As a communicator, I feel Communication should be a combination of ethics, responsibility, respecting the identity of others, and recognizing that communication is powerful. I feel our words are one of the most powerful tools of self-expression, so we must use that power to create something in which ethics, morals, and values are honored. As a journalist, I believe I need to be fair, respectful of source’s words/opinions, and ethical. I have the power to change society’s view of a person or topic by the words I write, so I must honor that responsibility and try my best to do it in a way that reflects truth, honesty and ethics.

Life consists of hard work. No matter what work I do, whether it be in my personal life or career life, I make it my mission to reflect Ephesians 6:7. Ephesians 6:7 says, “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” My goal in life is to produce work that God would be proud of. I want to give my all while also reflecting Christ through my actions and words.

I am a recent Waynesburg University graduate. I have a Bachelors Degree in communication with a focus in journalism and electronic media.

During my time at Waynesburg University, I was the Chief Photographer of the Yellow Jacket, Waynesburg University's award-winning student news publication, named one of the best non-daily papers in the region by the Society of Professional Journalists. I was also the Photo Editor of the Mad Anthony Yearbook and the Programming Director for the Waynesburg University student chapter of Society of Professional Journalists.

I also completed an Internship at McMillen Photography, which provided me with strong photography skills.

I am just now finishing up with my first journalism job since graduating college. In June, I was hired as a writer and photographer for the Effingham Teutopolis News Report. This job allowed me to write feature stories and take all my own photographs to accompany my stories. Though I enjoyed this job tremendously I eventually decided to leave and take some time to travel. I'm now back in my hometown of Beaver, PA, where I hope to continue with my passions.

My future goals continue to consist of pursuing my passions: writing, photography, and traveling.
